Born on a monday............

Today.
Monday.

Daddy goes to work, mommy goes shopping. Brothers in army and school. Here i am, at home.

So this is it. This is how it feels like to be ORD. Awaiting university entry(which reminds me. I wonder if my student appraisals are done............).

A taste of things to come. It lingers on the tongue.
Freedom? No, thats not the taste. I would have thrown off the one chain, only to be replaced with another invisible one.
No one is really free. In school, at work, among friends, anywhere. We are bound by schedules, group dynamics, commitments etc. I still wake up early in the morning, be it for work, or school, or to prepare to go out later in the day.

But i shall not take those as a restriction. Not a road block, but a funnel. So long as those "chains" do not restrict my identity, i shall bear them.

Restrictions are not chains to weigh us down. They can be jewelery, or weapons as well. Those are chains too. Chains can be used to climb to hard-to-reach heights. Chains can be used to beautify.

Moral of the day: Don't drag your chains like a miserable baboon. Use them, harness them, integrate and make them a part of you. Make them something beautiful. Appreciate your restrictions; they bring order to an otherwise chaotic existence.

Under-whirl

I was never really a huge fan of the Underworld movie series. You know......the movie about vampires in black leather and trench coats fighting werewolves in modern day? Ya that one with the the sexy kick ass Vampire chick. Well, i found the first Underworld movie a tad long winded and confusing. The 2nd one "Underworld: Evolution", though it had a bigger budget and action, came across like VanHelsing meets Terminator(I like Terminator mind you, but VanHelsing........yeech).

Anyway, yesterday(18 feb) me and my pals were handing around Lot 1 and we decided to go wath a movie. Despite being short on cash, i chose to go along and watch "Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans".

First impressions of the title just dragged to mind all those "EPIC FAILZORS" B movies of years past. Thankfully, by 10 minutes into the movie, my views went unfounded.

DON'T listen to those movie reviews in 8Days and stuff.(2 stars??) Underworld 3, for me, is probably the best of the 3 underworld movies. I'll be giving a full, in-depth review some time later(maybe next week) but just to touch on some points.

The story, nice, straightfoward and simple. In this day and age of increasingly complex(-ish) stories even on daily TV aka Battlestar Galactica, it is refreshing to have nice straightfoward movie once in a while. Think Romeo and Juliet meets Moses via the Fall of the Roman Empire.
The acting? One of the best i've seen. EVER. For heavens sake, when will people understand that no one acts better than the BRITISH!!! One can totally get immersed in the rich fleshing out of the various characters.
The action? A big Bloody mess(pun-ishment 1), gore-filled, and a lot more "real" than the standard special effects stuff nowadays. Was it intended, yes. Was it achieved, hell yes. SO WHATS WRONG 8DAYS!?!?!?!?

Overall? A very dark film(nightblind ppl may need help) about betrayal and tragic love and more. You'd be a real sucker to miss out.

Inaugural Opening

TA DA!! My first post on my all new blog. YAAY!!

Now, a clearly stated purpose for this organised collection of pixels masking as words on teh INTERNETS. It's purpose is essentially as a REVIEW site. I love watching movies, reading comics, playing games, all the usual things people do in life, and more. I have recently developed a NEW view on said life and would like to share it with others.
How new can life be? VERY. That is, from a certain point of view. A full integration of thoughts and feelings, from past, now and everlasting--->> CHANNELED into a TOTAL appreciation for the little things in life. basically, not just existing BUT LIVING.

Never thought a toy based cartoon like TRANSFORMERS could be so heavily ridden with philosophy? Never thought about, not why, but HOW you cry when watching Land Before Time? Ever felt that something as straight foward and simple as a drawn stick figure could have layers upon layers of deeper meaning?
Do you think about eating before you feel like eating, or is it the other way around?(Hint:its neither).

Through my review of movies, games, books, eating, speaking. lambasting of another blog etc (See: LIVING LIFE) i will present a fresh, balanced new view.......of life.
